We only work with lenders registered with the National Credit Regulator
Three steps from application to payout. Everything happens online, so there’s no branch visit and no paperwork to post.
Tell us how much you need, how long you’d like to repay it over, and a few details about your income. It takes around five minutes.
We pass your details to the NCR-registered lender best suited to your request. You finish their application and review the offer before you sign anything.
Once you’re approved and have signed the agreement, the lender sends the money to your bank account. Many payouts land the same day.
Our lending partners can only consider applications that meet these requirements, set under the National Credit Act.
If one of these doesn’t apply to you, a lender won’t be able to approve a loan. Our guides explain other options.

Instant Loans SA (ILSA™) is a South African credit broker. We don’t lend money ourselves. Instead, we connect you with a panel of lenders registered with the National Credit Regulator and match your application to the one most likely to suit your needs.
Using our service is free. We may receive a commission from a lender if you go on to take out a loan, but this never changes what you pay.

Some lenders can pay out within minutes of you signing the loan agreement, but no NCR-registered lender can guarantee it. Payout speed depends on:
Our loan guide explains what to expect in more detail.
You won’t need paper documents, but every regulated lender needs digital proof of your identity and income, usually through uploaded or electronically verified bank statements. That’s what makes a fast, fully online decision possible.
No. The National Credit Act requires every registered lender to check your credit history and assess whether you can afford the repayments. Our partners start with a soft check as part of an automated assessment. Any offer of a loan with no credit check at all is a warning sign.
Our lending partners mainly offer small, short-term loans. First-time borrowers are often offered up to around R5,000, and limits usually go up to R8,000 depending on your income, credit profile and the lender’s affordability assessment. For larger amounts, compare personal loans from the major banks.
It depends on the lender. Many short-term lenders offer terms of up to three months, repaid in monthly instalments. You can use our loan calculator to compare different terms.
Rates vary by lender, loan amount and term, and are capped by the National Credit Act. For a first short-term loan in a calendar year, interest can’t exceed 5% a month. Your lender must show you the full cost, including fees, before you sign.
There’s no single blacklist in South Africa. Credit bureaus record both positive and negative information about how you’ve managed credit. A lower score doesn’t automatically rule you out, but if your report shows current adverse listings, our lending partners won’t be able to offer you a loan. You can check your report for free once a year: our credit report guide shows you how.
Yes. Lenders pay out by bank transfer and use your account to verify your identity and income. You’ll also need a South African ID number, a South African phone number and proof of regular income.
They are when you borrow from a lender registered with the National Credit Regulator. You can check any lender on the NCR’s register of credit providers. Never pay a fee upfront to receive a loan: that’s a common scam.
No. We’re a credit broker that introduces you to lenders. We don’t make lending decisions and we don’t charge you for our service.

Instant Loans SA is not a lender. We are a credit broker that introduces borrowers and lenders for the purposes of entering into short-term unsecured loan agreements. All applications are subject to credit checks and an affordability assessment by the lender, as required by the National Credit Act.
Instant Loans SA doesn’t charge customers a fee for using its broker services, but we may receive commission from lenders if a customer enters into a consumer credit agreement following an introduction through this website.
If you’re approved, payout time depends on the lender and your bank’s processing. Interest and fees are set by the lender within the limits of the National Credit Act and will be shown in full before you sign. Loans are available to South African residents aged 18 and over only.
By starting an application you agree to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, including consent for lenders to carry out the credit and background checks required under South African law.
